Let’s be honest, as much as we love our long-haired guinea pigs, keeping up with that long fur can be a bit of a struggle. Between the hay getting stuck and the tangles forming overnight, sometimes a little DIY grooming at home feels a bit daunting.
That’s why we’ve decided to launch a dedicated Guinea Pig Haircut service for just £8. We aren't looking to give them a model-ready look, our focus is purely on making sure your piggies are clean, comfortable, and tangle-free. It’s a quick, low-stress trim designed to make life easier for both you and your pet.

Why bother with a trim?
It might seem like just an aesthetic thing, but keeping their coat at a manageable length is actually a big deal for their health:
No more mats: Once hair starts to mat, it pulls tight against the skin. This can be really painful for a guinea pig and makes it hard for them to move around comfortably.
Keeping things clean: Long hair around the back end is a magnet for pee and damp bedding. Keeping that area trimmed (the classic "bum trim") is the best way to prevent skin irritation and keep them smelling fresh.
Beating the heat: Guinea pigs can struggle when it gets warm. Shaving them isn't necessary, but a good trim helps them stay much cooler when the temperature rises.
Spotting problems early: It’s much easier to check for any lumps, bumps, or dry skin when you aren't digging through six inches of fluff!
How often should they visit?
If you have a long-haired breed like a Peruvian or a Sheltie, their hair never really stops growing! We usually recommend a tidy-up every 4 to 6 weeks.
For shorter-haired breeds that just get a bit "scruffy" around the edges, a quick trim every couple of months is usually plenty to keep them tidy and hygienic.
We’re keeping the price simple at £8 per pig. It’s a great way to take the stress out of grooming day.
